Mirrors
reality, identity, and the illusion of self
A mirror is a window into negative space, where everything you see exists only as a semblance, intangible and untouchable (incorporeal). Your reflection is a ghost, although it can be seen, it has no actual body, a presence without substance. And although it can replicate you exactly, it isn’t you. This means that you can never truly look at yourself, only the obscured projection of the vessel you inhabit. Even when other people look at you, they’re not seeing you directly, but rather the light reflected off your body, processed and interpreted by their brain. Then again, when you look at it that way, I guess that’s true for everything.
